Romantic Ideas For Valentine’s Day

You want to do something special on Valentine's Day but just don't know where to start.  Don't worry - you are not alone.  Valentine's Day can be stressful for some people, particularly for those who haven't had the time to organise something special in advance.  Sorry, those flowers at the petrol station just won't cut it.

Here are a few ideas you can try.
  • Cook a romantic meal or book their favourite restaurant
  • Have a game night
  • Book a massage or give them a massage yourself
  • Go see a movie - his or her choice
  • Take a day off work and spend it together
  • Have breakfast in bed
  • Book a night away
  • Stock the fridge with their favourite beer or beverage
  • Go on a picnic
  • Order a subscription to their favourite magazine
  • Watch the sunset and/or sunrise together
  • Do an activity that your partner loves
  • Rent some DVDs and relax at home
  • Book a housecleaner and give yourself the day off
  • Go for a drive somewhere - anywhere
And to make the day even more special, don't forget to order a little something from Rainbow Designs.  Our Love you Beary Much, It's Love Gift, I Love You More Than Chocolate or the Choco-Lot Gift Hamper will go down extremely well on the day.

Don't forget Valentine's Day is about spending time with the one you love, so whatever else happens, focus on that and all should be okay.

Beer Appreciation Gifts

While we do appreciate our lollies and chocolates, our beer gifts are extremely popular for those looking to buy a gift for a special occasion.

Are you a beer connoisseur or know someone who is?  Our Craft Beer Hamper is a great way to introduce someone to the world of boutique beer.  This gift includes 16 bottles of premium Australian and overseas beer, beer coasters and 2 Bormioli Rocco Electra Beer Glasses.  To increase their knowledge of beer, it also includes the Gourmet Explorer Beer Book, fact sheets, tasting evaluation sheets and tasting notes.

If 16 bottles are just not enough, then try our Premium Boutique Beer Hamper.  It includes 30 bottles of beer (15 premium varieties), 2 beer glasses, fact sheets, tasting notes and even some chips, nuts and pretzels to whet your thirst.

We also have a Lager, Cider or Ale Gift Box on offer which features two bottles of your favourite brew, a glass and some nuts to complete the package.  For only $79 including postage these make the perfect gift for the beer lover.  And for the same price we also have our Blue Tongue Gift Hamper featuring 4 Blue Tongue Lagers, crispbread, beer nuts and olive oil.

Gifts $30 and Under

We understand that sometimes you are on a budget or just need a little gift as a way of saying thank you, congratulations or well done.  $30 doesn't seem to go as far as it used to and more often than not when you buy a gift online the postage is an added extra which might just push you over your budget.

All our gifts in the Under $30 section include postage so you know exactly how much you are going to spend.  Ranging from $20-$27, those with a sweet tooth will be delighted with the gift which arrives on their doorstep.

3PM Pick Me Up Gift

I know the feeling - 3pm rolls around and you are feeling like you need a little energy boost.  This pick me up gift features 300g of mixed lollies and chocolates to keep you going until the end of the day.

Just Chocolates

The name says it all!  Half a kilo of yummy chocolates including Clinkers, Bullets, Caramel Buds, Cobbers and Jaffas.  And if your budget allows, for an extra $10 you can add a coloured teddy bear of your choice.

Just Lollies

For those that prefer just lollies - this gift is for them.  500g of Chicos, F1 Race Cars, Pineapples, Milk bottles and more.  Again add a teddy bear of your choice if you wish.

Spotty Treats Gift

Our spotty gift box is very popular and is perfect as a get well or thank you gift.  This box includes a scrumptious mix of chocolates and lollies - 500g of deliciousness.

So don't let your budget stand in the way of letting a loved one know how much you care.  A little gift can go a long way and can really make someone's day.

And if you order before 3.30pm, they will be sent out the very same day for next business day delivery.

Back To Business

Well the Christmas wine disappeared in a flash and the gifts were opened.  Then the New Year wine disappeared just as quick and we celebrated the start of 2014.  And in between we enjoyed our downtime and spent the holiday doing as very little as possible.  We hope you too managed to find some time to relax and unwind.  What did you get up to?

Today however we are back to business as usual.  And a good thing really as I was starting to experience withdrawal symptoms from Rainbow Designs or maybe that was just the reduction in chocolate talking!  Either way I am glad to be back.

Our Christmas gifts may have been retired but we still have plenty of quality lolly and chocolate gift boxes on offer.  Take our ever popular Big Sweet Tooth Gift Box as an example.  A drooly 1kg (that's right!) of lollies and chocolates all presented in a hamper style white noodle box.

Or for the little sweetie we have the Little Sweetie Gift Hamper which features white chocolate raspberry bullets, snakes, mini meringue bursts, jelly beans, party mix, giant lollipop and aniseed rock candy.

And one of most popular gifts from last year is still available - our Fudge It gift set; three types of scrumptious fudge presented in three delightful tins to use even when the fudge is gone.

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed my holidays I can't help but feel they went by very quickly...before I know it we will be talking Valentine's Day.

It's Christmas Carol Time

With only two weeks to go until Christmas, I can say without a doubt that the Christmas carol season has started. Wherever you go at this time of year it is inevitable that some store will have the carols playing. And for most towns, the official caroling season has started with "Carols By Candlelight" being held in the majority of towns around Australia.

I certainly don't mind Christmas carols as it is a great way to really get into the festive season and share in the spirit of Christmas.

What is your favourite Christmas carol? Some like the more traditional carols while others opt for the more up-tempo pop versions. CD sales for Michael Buble, Kelly Clarkson and Susan Boyle soar as people are snapping up the albums to impress friends and family.

December is such an enjoyable month especially with the Christmas parties and gift giving involved. We love being part of Christmas as we get to share in the Christmas spirit when we send our delicious gifts all over Australia. Our large Rudolph Gift Box has been sent to Darwin, Hobart and everywhere in between it seems.

Don't forget that we will be closed from Tuesday 17 December until 6 January 2014 so make sure you get your order in before then.

And while many of our gifts have sold out due to their popularity, we still have quite a variety on offer. Choose from a Christmas Lolly Jar for the kids or a Moet Christmas Hamper for mum and dad. And needless to say the Rocky Road Christmas Tin has been snapped up like there has been no tomorrow - what great taste you all seem to have. Yum - rocky road!!

We hope you are making the most of the silliness and fun that December allows and we wish you a delicious and magical Christmas.

December Traditions

I love December for many reasons, not only because of summer and Christmas (although they are both pretty awesome!) but for the traditions which families recreate year after year.
  • Do you start decorating on the same day each year or put your tree up on a specific day?
  • Do you use specific decorations or have a special way in which you decorate?
  • Do you drive around the neighbourhood to view the Christmas lights and decorations?
  • Does the elf on the shelf appear to monitor your children's behaviour?
  • Do you attend your local "Carols By Candlelight" concert every year?
  • Do you use an advent calendar in your house?
  • Do you have a Christmas CD which makes an appearance every December?
  • Do you leave out milk and cookies for Santa?
  • Do you hang stockings in your house?
  • Do you donate a gift or your time to a particular charity each year?
  • Do you bake traditional Christmas cookies or treats to share with your family?
These are just some of the traditions which families enjoy and experience together each year creating great memories and traditions to pass on to future generations.

And some of you have even added Rainbow Designs into the mix as part of your traditions for which we are very grateful.  We have many customers who order a gift box or two of lollies or chocolates each year as a special way to treat their family and friends.

Do you have any particular traditions which you or your family participate in every December?  Please share as we would love to hear from you.
